As we are speaking of Industry 4.0, an idea of "Traceability 4.0" is also emerging. It is the transition from a spot-checked and fragmented observation, to a continuous analysis of the data flow provided by each of the stakeholders, from upstream to downstream.

It is the transition from hardly accessible traceability information to real-time, continuous and shared traceability on each product or each batch. Although it is not sufficient by itself, blockchain technology is an essential brick of a modern traceability solution. It is adapted to the complexity of current supply chains and to their new challenges.

This presentation will discuss some examples of initiatives around operational improvement, regulatory compliance, and customer transparency.
